Hi guys! So I noticed there's quite a lot of questions and confusion about the fabled "Version 2" so I thought I'd make this guide in hopes of clearing things up. I know that this guide will eventually become outdated, so I'll include later major updates when I have the time/energy to do so, but for now, this guide covers the changes that CAME WITH the version 2 patch.

-Special thanks to Lolineko, Seyren, and ICRitchie for answering my questions and helping me compile the info for this guide (y)
-Thanks to Topkek for reminding me about Peishe :p
-Thanks to Xion for clarifying info about Post V2 updates.
-Thanks to kbdkke for clarification on Ring Shop weapons and Monthly Quests.
-Thanks to 5plus1 for providing the numbers of the exp boosts in the v2.3 update
-Thanks to Astram for translating various JP update info

DISCLAIMER: This guide uses JPCC as a reference. While unlikely, it is entirely possible that Global CC will omit or alter some of these features during their Version 2 update.

    Tavern Changes
-New tavern rates were introduced with the update:
    -SSR = 7%
    -SR = 20%
    -R = 73%
    -Pickup System Introduced
    • Every month or two, 3 SSR's from each tavern will be chosen to go on pickup. The chance to draw an SSR remains 7%, however, if you do manage to roll that 7%, you will very likely pull one of the SSR's that are on pickup. It's still possible to get a non-pickup SSR, but the chances are very slim. An SSR that is currently on pickup will not be on pickup next round unless the tavern has fewer than 6 SSR. SR's also have a pickup system that is identical to the SSR's.

    2000 AC Recruit
-Can use 2000 Arcana coins to pull a guaranteed 3* arcana (forgers, enhancers, characters)
-Small chance to get the current Fortune Ring Exchange character as well*
*You're also able to get the Ring Exchange character from regular AC recruit as well
Only registered members can view this content, click here to sign up and view it!

    Ring Gacha
-Can use 5 rings to pull for a chance at a ring gacha SSR (roughly 1.7% chance, according to some players)
-Gacha pool also contains 3* character arcana, B-rank weapons, Forgers, and enhancers
-List of Ring gacha characters: http://chainchronicle.gamerch.com/Fortune Ring Gacha Arcana

    Ring Shop Changes
-Removed Revival fruits from ring shop exchange
-Stamina fruits now cost 15 rings instead of 10 rings
-Can exchange rings for B-rank weapons* (15 rings) and A-rank weapons (120 rings)
*Note: B-rank weapons were originally available in V1 in JP. A-rank weapons were introduced later in V2
Only registered members can view this content, click here to sign up and view it!

    Combat Changes
-Knights no longer pause when blocking ranged attacks*
-Soldiers/Clerics/Archers/Mages flinch for about one second when hit by a ranged attack while moving*
*applies to both your team and the enemy team
    -Fist weapon type introduced
Only registered members can view this content, click here to sign up and view it!
    -Sea creature-type enemies introduced
    -New terrain type: Beach

    Party Changes
    -SP Guest system introduced
    • For certain quests (some story, but mostly event quests), you will have to use set NPC characters as reinforcements. These NPCs act as standard reinforcement allies, except they aren't your friends' leads or anything. They have stats that are set with the specific quest, and are generally strong enough to be able to hold their own.
    • Only registered members can view this content, click here to sign up and view it!
-Kizuna system introduced during Update 2.1, roughly 2 months after V2 update
    • You are able to equip a character onto another character for increased stats as well as an additional 'kizuna ability'. Kizuna system is unlocked upon completion of Book 1 Chapter 3, and the arcana being equipped must be at least level 40. The base arcana's party cost will also increase according to the rarity of the kizuna arcana. For the kizuna ability to become active, the base arcana and the kizuna arcana must be of the same class. The stat boosts are dependent on the type (ring exchange, tavern, rarity, etc.) and the level of the kizuna arcana. Base arcanas will receive also an extra stat bonus if the kizuna arcana is from the same tavern. Finally, note that kizuna arcana are considered in the party, meaning you can't have multiple copies of a character in both kizuna and main party.
    • Just to clarify, as I've seen this asked many times: Kizuna is NOT PERMANENT. you can unequip the kizuna arcana any time from the party menu.
    • Note: I understand that this technically did not come WITH the V2 Update, but it seems too big and important to leave out. Thanks to ICRitchie for confirming this.
    • Only registered members can view this content, click here to sign up and view it!
    -Multi-weapon system introduced
    • Each character now has 3 weapon slots that are treated separately. When you equip a weapon onto a character via enhancement, only one of the slots get used. You are able to change the weapon the character is actively equipping any time on their info page. This allows you to equip special event weapons on a character without having to overwrite a powerful A-rank weapon to do so. Note that special effects from a weapon that is NOT currently equipped will NOT be active.
    • Came after Agudara's raid, which is post v2
    • Only registered members can view this content, click here to sign up and view it!
    Monthly Quests
-Introduced monthly quests that gives a chance to obtain a past fortune ring exchange character, starting from Tigre onwards
    • The quest costs 25 AP and is a chest drop quest. The first 3 chests are 2* enhancers of the same class as the ring exchange character. The 4th chest contains a copy of the ring exchange character, which changes every month and follows the ring exchange order. The 4th chest has around a 1% drop chance so bringing a Nimpha won't help much. You may think that 1 month is plenty of time to get the ring character, but everyone that has tried it knows that this is not the case...The monthly is a last resort to get copies of ring characters, and you should be prepared to use stamina fruits to obtain more than one copy.
    • Note: Originally, the ring character was the quest completion reward, and the 4th chest was one unit of prysma. There was also a 1% chance to draw the monthly ring character from all taverns. The prysma and ring character chests were later swapped, and the 1% chance removed. No one knows if Global will be like this too, or will jump directly to the current JP Monthly system described above.

    Mission System
-Daily, Weekly, Event, and one-time missions are now introduced
    • Sort of like an achievement system, this will reward you when you fulfill certain conditions such as: killing certain amounts of specific enemies (Hunt Missions), having all class types in your party (Alliance Missions), doing a certain amount of damage in a single hit (Assault Missions), and many more. Rewards vary depending on the mission and range from rings and enhancers/forgers to prysma and even SR/SSR arcana. Daily missions reset every day, while weekly missions reset every week. The one-time missions are always active and must be completed in order (i.e. you must complete Hunt Mission 001 to unlock Hunt Mission 002). You can obtain quite a lot of free prysma from these missions, so be sure to do them. (y)

    Story/Content *Warning - contains spoilers!*

That should cover everything that came with the original Version 2 Update. Let me know if there are other features that I missed or any typos, etc.

    Thanks for reading~ :D

This next part will be for misc. updates after the Version 2 update. I'm not as clear with the order of events in these changes (I started JP well after most of these updates after all), but I'll try to confirm the info to the best of my abilities. Please excuse the rather rough and unorganized list...

    [Ocean's Dawn Update]
    -Book 2, chapter 2 added
-Ocean's Dawn Tavern added - accessible after Chapter 2-6
    -New world map added
-New BGM's for overworld, battle, and boss wave
-New weapon types: Pistol and Rifle
Only registered members can view this content, click here to sign up and view it!
Only registered members can view this content, click here to sign up and view it!
-New enemy types: pirates, sea anemones, giant squid
    -New terrain: ocean
-elemental penalties completely removed *confirmation needed*

    [V2.1 Update]

    -Casino introduced
    • The casino is only open during special events. You use casino coins instead of AP to access the casino quests. These coins are farmable from special quests available right before and during the casino event. The casino quests are time attack quests, and you will receive a rank based on how fast you clear it (gold, silver, or bronze). At the end, you will play a rewards roulette based on what rank bracket you made it in. The best rewards include premium tickets, A-rank weapons, and stamina fruits and are limited to 1 per event. The other rewards such as enhancers, forgers, melon slices, etc. are farmable. Note that some of the casino quests have special requirements, such as "no soldiers allowed", so prepare accordingly.

    [V2.2 Update]
    -Book 2, chapter 3 added
-Beast Tavern added - accessible at Chapter 3-6
-New enemy types: boars, beasts, moths
    -New terrain: mountain
-various character buffs - *details coming soon...*

    Demon Raid changes
-3-orb time reduced from 200 seconds to 130 seconds*
-max demon orbs increased from 3 to 6**
-using 3 demon orbs gives your party a 2x atk/hp buff**
    -guaranteed demon gacha system introduced**
    • There's a new system in the demon gacha where, if you have not pulled a demon within a certain number of pulls, your next pull will be a guaranteed demon. There will be a number in the demon gacha screen that counts down for every pull you make; pulling a demon will reset this countdown. The demon is guaranteed to come out of the gacha when the countdown reaches 0. The countdown number varies between raids due to changes in demon coin reward amounts, but you will always be guaranteed a demon from demon gacha at raid levels 100 and 150 assuming you haven't gotten lucky with demon gacha pulls. This means, including the demon rewards at levels 50 and 80, you are virtually guaranteed an MLB demon if you can reach raid level 200 even if you haven't gotten lucky with demon gacha pulls or red chests.
    • For reference, Phlogabitus' guaranteed demon gacha intervals were 250, 400, 600, and 1000 while Talubik's intervals were 400, 400, and 400. No idea why Phlogabitus had four demon gacha intervals...o_O
    *introduced during Talubik's raid
    **Introduced during Phlogabitus' raid

    [V2.3 Update]
-Book 2, Chapter 4 (Land of Sin) added
-Sin Tavern added - accessible after Chapter 4-15
-Land of Sin Casino added, accessible partway through the map
-New enemy types: prisoners, hellhounds, snipers
    -New terrain types: prison, wasteland
-Combat changes: Bow archers now do more damage when closer to the enemy
    • 10% more damage when 3 blocks away, 20% more when 1 block away (credit goes to Astram)
-Combat changes: When doing the mana roulette between waves in battle, the leftmost mana gets added to your mana bar first (used to be the rightmost one). This is significant because the leftmost mana is the only one that you have control over.
    -Combat changes: 3x speed added
    -UI Changes
Only registered members can view this content, click here to sign up and view it!
    -Battle options added:
    • In the middle of a battle, you will be presented with a choice. They grant beneficial effects (such as atk up) to the party for the remainder of the battle. So far, this has only occurred during event quests, as it is still very new. Currently, the options seen have only been "atk increase + filled mana gauge" and "atk increase + heal party hp". Sometimes, both options give the same buffs. *More details to come*

Only registered members can view this content, click here to sign up and view it!
-New event type: Subjugation *More details to come*
    • The general gist of it is that you form separate parties to fight timed battles to earn points to use as currency in an exchange shop. There are 2 phases; phase 1 is like a training mode, and phase 2 is the real battle where things get tough. Each phase is separated into 'rounds', where each round has 2-3 battles that must be fought with completely separate parties; failure to beat one battle within the time limit results in the round ending in 'night-time' where your army is sleeping. You must wait a certain amount of time (1-2 hours) or use prysma or a special event item to return to daytime and resume the battles from where you left off before proceeding to the next round.
    • I know it's a rather rough description, but Sega has announced that they will tweak the next subjugation event due to balance issues in the current one. I will write a more complete description of it after they balance it.
-New event type: Total War *They released a preview of the upcoming Total War event, so here are a few details about the features:*
    • The map is 5 lanes by 8 columns; your side of the field is still 3 columns
    • There is no sub-party; all 6 members in your party selection screen and the friend ally are present on the field
    • Map AoE's (Cheery, Aludra, etc.) don't hit the entire map during this mode; they hit all the lanes, but aren't able to reach the farthest columns.
Only registered members can view this content, click here to sign up and view it!
    -Bonus exp system introduced
    • When you have maxed level characters in the party, all non-max level characters will receive an exp bonus after the battle for each max-level character.
    • Bonus is 25% increase per max-level character (thanks to 5plus1 for providing the link with the numbers)
-Few minor updates before v2.4 update (Credits to Astram):
    • HP bar now turns yellow when lower than 50% HP

    • You can now write a short comment/quote that is displayed to other players under your lead.

    • Multi-hitting skills now show damage as "damage x (# of hits)". The "# of hits" will increase as your character continues hitting the enemy during the skill animation.

    • You can now create up to 10 parties and can even give a name to each party.
Only registered members can view this content, click here to sign up and view it!
    • Can now sell up to 50 arcana at once
-Book 2 Chapter 5 added - Continent of Ill Fate
    -Ill Fate Tavern added
-New Enemy Types: Yaibirds, Turtles, Frogs, Children

[V2.4 Update] *All credit goes to Astram*

-When using stamina fruits or prysma to recover AP, you can now hold up to two times your current max AP limit.
-Regarding unit swapping in battle, you can now switch between three different patterns in the pause menu
Only registered members can view this content, click here to sign up and view it!
-When selecting enhancers to level up your units, potential experience gained is now displayed with a red gauge(does not take into account great success)
Only registered members can view this content, click here to sign up and view it!
-Two new items added to ring shop:
    • 基本の指南書 - Increase party cost to 70 for a limited time (or add +1 when your party cost exceeds 70). Available for both 7 and 30 days.
    • 祝福の像 - Increase experience gained by a single character for 2 hours.
-New SP tickets that guarantee a SR unit or above (SSR rate stays the same). Each ticket is limited to a certain tavern and they can be acquired from missions and events. New players can obtain a single SP ticket for each Book 1 tavern by progressing through the main story quests.
-Added voices to the game opening
    -New normal missions available.
    -Various bug fixes

[update 2.5?] (Sorry I've been taking a hiatus from JPCC so haven't been updating as frequently)
-FR exchange will be removed permanently
    • Instead, you get ticket exchange as a permanent feature. It's 25 tickets max per month (5 tickets for 25 rings each, and another 20 tickets for 50 rings each); recharges every month
    • All previous FR exchange arcana will be available for exchange at 50 rings per copy at the shop
    • additional items in ring shop will be added
    • price of stamina fruits will be changed
-Fortune Ring gacha still exists but will be changed
    • The first copy will be exchangeable (ie Ring exchange) for 200 rings. All other copies must be obtained via regular ring gacha.
    • The future ring gacha arcana will supposedly be stronger than before
    • The interval between ring gacha character changes may be changed as well
-The amount of rings obtained from selling certain arcana will be changed
    • 3* enhancers, forgers, and weapons will give 0 rings when sold
    • Amount of rings obtained from selling event SSR will be decreased. SSR give 6 rings, SR give 3 rings.
    • Tavern/gacha SSR and SR will give you more rings when sold. SSR give 50 rings, SR give 20 rings.

This might be a good to place to ask as any.

I once read people said that you could exchange fortune rings for prysma / premium ticket in V2, but since I have played CC JP myself, I do not see such option. So was it not true at all that you could trade rings for prysma / premium ticket? Or perhaps that only available sparingly from time to time?

You used to have the option to trade rings for Premium tickets (25 rings/ticket). However, they removed that option in V2 I think since it became much easier to farm rings.

Now they bring back the ticket exchange every now and then during special events only, and it became 40 rings/ticket.

I'm happy about the combat changes, since it helps balance out the classes & makes knights all the more useful in a team. The Kizuna feature is also a nice touch, since it gives us more room to customize our pt while also still making use of the older roster, despite the constant stream of newer units always coming in.

I think it's also worth noting that revive fruits won't be sold & stamina fruit prices will raise by 50% in Ring Shop after V2 hits Global. So it can be considered a last stop for F2P-ers if they wanna stock up right before supplies of them are forever removed.

Nice info. About monthly quest, I've been wondering about the last chest, already doing that quest several times and never dropped. So the last chest is ring exchange character, thats great. But the chances for being dropped is around 1% and the AP cost is 25. So is it worth to get the 4th chest ? Or should I pass it? Just wondering..

    Thanks in advance.
    Sorry for my bad english.

My personal estimate would around 3-4 months until V2 update (so around June or July)
    • Book 1 has 10 Chapters, meaning Gumi needs to release one more chapter, and then V2 will be next.
    • In terms of demon raids, V2 came after Hatifas in JP (the order goes Aelle Gloon > Armilus > Sapuras > Rasphia > Hatifas). However, Global is moving at much faster pace likely because Gumi is primarily translating pre-existing content.
    • So far, Gumi seems to be avoiding collaboration events, which is why Global is having demons at a much faster pace since, originally in JP, collabs were one of the main reasons why demon raids were spaced so far apart.
Just my thoughts...shouldn't be taken as fact though :p

4* Kain has poison immunity and gives that immunity as a kizuna to knights
4* Michidia can inflict slow and gives that ability as a kizuna to archers
4* Marina has daze immunity and gives that along with mana expertise as a kizuna to clerics

It's generally agreed upon that Marina is the most useful 4* starter. She is about as strong as an MLB Arietta but only needs 8 party cost.

Kain can be useful to tank against poison mobs or to give that poison immunity for your knights.

    Michidia....bleh
